Hi, I’m Beth McCall.
Growing up, I was a competitive volleyball and softball athlete, and while in college I made a big switch to run NCAA D1 cross country and track. All of this to say, I have a strong passion for sports and have personally seen the benefits of proper fueling in my athletic career (and also the challenges that improper fueling can bring!)
After ending my collegiate athletic career, I battled major injury and struggled with daily activities that once came easy to me. This is where yoga came in. I began practicing yoga when I was sidelined from running, and at the time I had no clue how it would impact me physically, mentally and emotionally. I now have the joy of sharing the many benefits of yoga with athletes in combination with my work as a sports dietitian.
I am a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics and Registered Yoga Teacher with 10 years of experience working with elite-level athletes. I have spent the majority of my career working in the collegiate athletics setting, with experience fueling professional, Olympic, and high school athletes as well. Prior to starting Purposeful Fueling, I most recently served as the Director of Sports Nutrition for Duke University, with previous roles held at the University of California Los Angeles and Florida State University.
My Approach
Fueling the body, mind and life with a purpose!
I believe that sound nutrition and proper fueling sit at the core of every athlete’s success. The way we fuel our bodies will impact far more than one might imagine. Nutrition will impact sport performance, mental performance, recovery and rehabilitation, and most importantly, long-term health and well-being.
I believe that yoga is for every body, especially when it comes to athletes. Yoga is the perfect balance to the intense training that high level athletes put themselves through on a regular basis. Yoga slows the body down, connects the body with the breath, and brings a much-needed restoration to an active body.
Every athlete is different, and every athlete’s body has different needs. This is why I take an individualized approach when it comes to my nutrition and yoga programming. I believe first in developing strong, trusting relationships with the athletes I work with, and then moving on to determining their needs and setting goals for improvement and success.
No matter the stage of an athletic career, every athlete has a purpose. I help athletes fuel with purpose with purpose.
